Serbian actor Jovan Ginić took part in a vast casting (1500 participants) to play the central role in Lost Country (Vladimir Perišić, 2023). A water polo player, the young man was selected by the director, who filmed him during his matches, and he ended up getting the famous sesame. He won two awards, one for Best Actor at the Sarajevo Film Festival and the other for Best Newcomer at the Louis Roederer Foundation Prize at the Cannes Film Festival’s Critics’ Week.
Lost Country is his only experience in front of the camera to date.
