Miró at the Grand Palais

It hardly seems possible, given his enduring fame, that 44 years have already passed since the last retrospective dedicated to Miró. It was back in 1974 at the Grand Palais, when Joan Miró was still alive.

This well-known Catalan and creator of amazingly diverse works of art is being honoured by close friend, Jean-Louis Prat, director of the Maeght Foundation for the last 35 years, who will be curating this memorable event. Everyone has been involved in the project, from leading museums to major art institutions. As one of its sponsors, the Louis Roederer Foundation has, of course, supported the event as we consider Miró to be something of an “on duty” poet who keeps the memory of these years alive with his continuously reinvented colours and dreams.
A Miró retrospective of this scale is a celebration of brilliance and joy that the Grand Palais felt duty bound to recreate.
