Laure Cadot

Laure Cadot was born in 1980 in France.
She is specialised in the treatment of organic materials and human remains. She graduated in art history, museology and applied research from the École du Louvre Graduate in conservation-restoration and preventive conservation (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne). Laure Cadot has worked as a freelance conservator for French and European public collections for some fifteen years.

As an extension of her research, Laure Cadot organises meetings on new approaches to conservation and the care of human remains collections in institutions, with the aim of highlighting and discussing professional practices in the broadest sense in light of contemporary issues surrounding this unique heritage (conservation-restoration, management, preventive conservation in the context of exhibitions, transport, study, excavations, etc.).

Key areas of focus:

– Intergenerational, international and inter-community panel. A desire to give a voice to a wide range of actors and points of view.
– Invitation to exchanges between representatives of non-European institutions linked to communities, representatives from communities working within or in connection with heritage stakeholders (cultural groups, religious communities, etc.).
– Work on a dynamic and horizontal form of exchange, facilitated by external specialists.
