Born in 1992, Alexandre Cornet lives and works in Paris. After studying physics and political science, Alexandre Cornet completed his doctoral thesis on the geographical economics of natural resources.
Alongside his research, he pursued documentary photography and trained in cinema at the Sorbonne and the Lussas Documentary School, before joining Le Fresnoy – Studio national. Influenced by his cross-disciplinary background, his artistic approach seeks to weave links between art and science, questioning the ambivalence of our relationship to technology and nature, to memory and place. His most recent works address the question of the traces of human activity – industrial or military – on non-human entities – geological, mineral, landscape – exploring the off-field of both collective and individual memory.
