Zelda Samson, born in 2010, is a Belgian actress. She has won numerous awards for her role in Dalva, the first Franco-Belgian feature film by director Emmanuelle Nicot, which had its world premiere at Cannes.
Driven by precise, accurate editing, Emmanuelle Nicot’s direction follows the transformation of Dalva, magnificently played by Zelda Samson, with finesse and kindness.
Dalva is 12 years old but still dresses, wears make-up and lives as a woman. One evening, she is abruptly removed from her father’s home. At first outraged and totally incomprehensible, she meets Jayden, a youth worker, and Samia, a strong-willed teenager. A new life seems to be opening up for Dalva, that of a young girl her own age.
