Genesis
Inspired by the spellbinding geography of this natural setting and the maritime passion of Jean-François Ott – Managing Director of Domaines Ott* – the Foundation has come up with Mobilis in Mobile, an event whose name echoes the motto of Captain Nemo and his Nautilus in Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Celebrating the perpetual movement of water and the fluidity of words, this event offers an unprecedented literary immersion.
Actors and artists
Actors Charles Berling, Anne Consigny, Marianne Basler, Bruno Putzulu and Richard Sammel performed readings of great stories from world literature inspired by the sea.
Colette Fellous was invited to write an original text about her personal connection to the sea. The author also introduced each text read by the actors and actresses with a short presentation contextualizing them.
Prior to the readings, the public had the chance to visit the winery, explore the estate and attend a performance entitled “Service des Panacées”, a dialogue between literature and medicine, by author and artist Laure Limongi, former resident of Villa Medici. Her new book L’Invention de la mer was published in February 2025 by Editions du Tripode.
