Involved for the first time in the Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles, the Louis Roederer Foundation is particularly pleased to be sponsoring the exhibition devoted to the early photographs of Joel Meyerowitz, who is also guest of honour at this 48th edition of the festival.

The Foundation is well acquainted with Joel Meyerowitz thanks to the talented Polka team, which represents him in Europe and accompanies him to Arles.

Entitled ‘Joel Meyerowitz – Early works’, the exhibition will be set up in the room Henri-Comte and will feature around forty original prints from the 1960s and 1970s in colour and black & white.

For the Louis Roederer Foundation and its organisers, this fine foray into Arles is also a moment of emotion, so vivid are the memories of the Lucien Clergue exhibition they sponsored at the Grand Palais from November 2015 to February 2016. These were already ‘first works’, to which the presence of the Clergue family and the superb scenography by François Hébel and Christian Lacroix added a very special sentimental value.
