Institute for Ideas and Imagination
The Institute for Ideas & Imagination fosters intellectual and artistic diversity, regardless of medium or discipline, through interaction between the arts and academia. It encourages connections between the analytical and the creative, between ideas and imagination. This vision is perfectly in line with that of the Louis Roederer Foundation, which has chosen to support this unique institute, an offshoot of New York’s Columbia University in Paris.

A hotbed of intellectual emulation
Every year, the Institute for Ideas & Imagination brings together 14 fellows, half of whom are professors and post-doctoral fellows from Columbia University; the other half are artists, writers and researchers from all over the world. Together, they spend a year working and exchanging ideas.
Actively involved in promoting the transmission of knowledge, the Louis Roederer Foundation wanted to enable researchers and professors from Columbia University to stay at the Institute for Ideas & Imagination to carry out their research, organise meetings, take part in conferences and collaborate on artistic initiatives.
In our search for a place that embodies the link between research and creativity, the Institute for Ideas & Imagination was a natural choice for the inauguration of our Thinking Sustainability programme and to celebrate the 2024 winner of the Thinking Sustainability Prize.
