After Cyclone and Notícias Populares (2023), his breakthrough came in 2024 with the film Baby, winner of the Louis Roederer Foundation Revelation Award at the 63rd Critics’ Week in Cannes.

The film depicts a complex relationship between a young former delinquent and the mature man – played by Ricardo Teodoro, chosen after a public internet appeal by the director – who takes him under his wing.

After leaving a juvenile detention centre, Wellington finds himself alone and adrift on the streets of São Paulo. He has no news of his parents and no resources with which to start a new life. He meets Ronaldo, a mature man who teaches him new ways to survive. Little by little, their relationship develops into a conflicting passion.
