The 2019 Louis Roederer Discovery Award at the Rencontres d’Arles: Two winners tied for first place: Máté Bartha and Laure Tiberghien.

As the 50th edition of the Rencontres d’Arles has just opened to the public, the jury of the Louis Roederer Discovery Award, presided by Agnès b., exceptionally awarded two laureates, Máté Bartha proposed by the Tobe gallery in Budapest (Hungary) and Laure Tiberghien along with the Lumière des Roses gallery in Montreuil (France), for their work currently exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles.
Selected among ten projects of ten photographers and their galleries, Máté Bartha with the Tobe gallery, and Laure Tiberghien with the Lumière des Roses gallery, got the Jury’s Award. This award comes with the amount of €15,000 to be shared between the two winners for the acquisition of works that will enter the Rencontres d’Arles collection, thanks to the support of the Louis Roederer Foundation and Polka.

Part of the Louis Roederer Discovery Award, Alys Tomlinson has been granted the 2019 Public’s Award with the amount of €5,000, thought the acquisition of work that will enter the Rencontres d’Arles collection, for her project « The Faithful » in collaboration with the Hackelbury Fine Art gallery in London (United Kingdom).
The projects of the three laureates are presented until September 22, at Ground Control in Arles.
