Exhibition Icones Américaines at the Grand Palais

We are Californian by adoption. Forty years ago, life and a little talent in spotting the right terroir led us to create an exciting vineyard called Roederer Estate to the north of San Francisco in Anderson Valley.

San Francisco is one of our passions. We miss San Francisco. So, when our friends at the Grand Palais told us about their fabulous idea to welcome the most beautiful works of art from the SFMOMA and the Fisher collection, the opportunity was too hard to resist. It was fabulous too because it was the occasion to pay tribute to the fantastic San Franciscan museum, to celebrate the splendour of its art and the intelligence of its choices.

Plus, we often have the feeling that we French, we Europeans, never experience enough of the richness of American contemporary art, the proliferation of work, the rare power of its personalities.

The Grand Palais is worthy of SFMOMA’s friendship and trust so keenly demonstrated by this loan. The Louis Roederer Foundation is delighted to once again share in such rare, privileged moments…
